Rick Dennison Joins Raiders as Offensive Line Coach
HENDERSON, Nev. – The Las Vegas Raiders have officially appointed Rick Dennison as their offensive line coach, a decision announced on Thursday.
Extensive Coaching Experience
Dennison boasts 30 years of experience in NFL coaching, with notable stints as an offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills (2017), Denver Broncos (2015-16), and Houston Texans (2010-13). His career includes participation in 14 playoff seasons, securing six division titles and four Super Bowl victories—Super Bowl XXXII, XXXIII, 50, and LX. Dennison has contributed to 13 seasons with 10 or more wins, and during his 17 years with the Broncos, he helped the team achieve three Super Bowl titles and eight playoff appearances while only facing two losing seasons.
Success with Seattle Seahawks
In 2025, Dennison took on the role of run game coordinator/senior offensive advisor for the Seattle Seahawks, leading them to a Super Bowl LX victory. Under his guidance, the Seahawks’ rushing attack improved dramatically, climbing from the 28th-best in 2024 (95.7 rush yards per game) to the 10th best (123.3 rush yards per game) in the following season. Running back Kenneth Walker III recorded 1,027 rushing yards, while RB Zach Charbonnet notched 12 rushing touchdowns, tying for the sixth-most in the NFL.
Tenure with the New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings
Before joining the Seahawks, Dennison served as a senior offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints in 2024, aiding an offensive line that enabled RB Alvin Kamara to achieve a career-high 950 rushing yards. His role as offensive line coach/run game coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings from 2019-2020 saw the offensive line allow the fifth-fewest sacks (28) while contributing to a rushing attack that ranked sixth in the NFL with 2,133 yards. RB Dalvin Cook thrived during this time, becoming the franchise’s first 1,000-yard rusher since 2015.
Notable Coaching Roles
Dennison has held various roles with teams such as the New York Jets (2018), Buffalo Bills (2017), Baltimore Ravens (2014), and two periods with the Denver Broncos (1995-09 and 2015-16). In his season with the Jets, the offensive line allowed 10 fewer sacks than the previous year, contributing to QB Sam Darnold setting rookie records for touchdown passes and passing yards per game.
Achievements with Past Teams
As the offensive coordinator for the Bills in 2017, Dennison helped the team rank sixth in rushing offense, earning Pro Bowl nods for players like RB LeSean McCoy. During his time in Denver in 2015, he led the offense to a 12-4 record, helping them secure the AFC West Division title and the No. 1 seed in the AFC, contributing to a Super Bowl 50 victory.
Playing Career and Education
Dennison played nine seasons as a linebacker for the Broncos, participating in 128 games and contributing 514 tackles. He was a recipient of the Ed Block Courage Award in 1989. He earned three varsity letters at Colorado State and was honored as a second-team Academic All-American. Dennison holds dual degrees in civil engineering, obtained in 1979 and 1982.
