Toprak Razgatlioglu, who did not participate in FP1, claimed the fastest time in WorldSBK FP2, becoming the only rider to break into the 1:39s.
This achievement mirrors Razgatlioglu’s performance during the World Superbike test in the Algarve two weeks prior, but he notably maintained a steady pace in the low 1:40s after setting his best time.
He appeared to be leading the competition, with Nicolo Bulega trailing by nearly 0.3 seconds in second place, showcasing impressive one-lap speed.
Michael van der Mark secured a spot in the top three, with another BMW presence, but was more than half a second slower than his teammate Razgatlioglu.
Andrea Iannone and Alvaro Bautista ensured two more Ducatis made it to the top five, while Yari Montella, Scott Redding, and Sam Lowes rounded out the top ten.
Ryan Vickers was the sole Ducati rider not to finish FP2 within the top ten, which was capped off by Alex Lowes on the leading Bimota.
FP1
In WorldSBK FP1 at the 2025 Portuguese Round, Nicolo Bulega topped the timesheets, joined by another rider in the 1:40s, Alvaro Bautista, who was only 0.019 seconds behind. Axel Bassani completed the top three with the Bimota.
Michael van der Mark and rookie Yari Montella performed well, finishing in the top five. Andrea Iannone, who faced a rear brake issue early on, managed to secure sixth place.
The session experienced a slight delay due to track conditions following WorldSSP practice. Unfortunately, Toprak Razgatlioglu did not set a time due to a persistent issue that arose at the start of the session.
ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK’s team principal Shaun Muir informed the international broadcast that Razgatlioglu reverted to the engine used during Race 2 in Australia the previous month, after using test engines in a pre-event test in Portimao.
