The British player had a standout performance, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2025 Miami Open.
Raducanu defeated notable players including Emma Navarro and Amanda Anisimova in Florida but ultimately lost to Jessica Pegula with scores of 4-6, 7-6, 2-6.
She was anticipated to compete in the Netherlands, however, Raducanu opted out of the Great Britain Billie Jean King Cup team, a choice that disappointed her captain, Anne Keothavong.

“Recalibrating what? She was performing exceptionally well,” he commented. “She had just regained her form; why step back now? It frustrates me.” Roddick praised her game, stating, “She appeared to be playing at a top-ten level in Miami.”
Raducanu is reportedly considering bringing British coach Mark Petchey onto her team after finding success with him during the Miami Open. Roddick believes Petchey could be a beneficial addition, noting how relaxed Raducanu looked during their time together.

Co-host Jon Wertheim reflected on Raducanu’s career choices, stating, “There have been numerous own-goals, and many perplexing decisions, particularly regarding her frequent changes in coaches.” He finds her numerous withdrawals and pull-outs perplexing as well.
Roddick expressed hope that Raducanu would return to the impressive form she showcased in Miami, stressing how vital it is for her to establish a stable coaching relationship moving forward. The 2025 Madrid Open, starting on April 21, is set to be her next competition, after she faced an early exit there last year.
