Apple has introduced a new beta firmware intended for the AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, and AirPods 4. This update, currently available only to developers, is identified by build number 8B5014c.
This firmware release coincides with Apple’s testing of the iOS 26.1 update, which is expected to enhance Live Translation support for additional languages, including Japanese, Korean, Italian, and both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
The company has added an option for beta firmware update installation in the AirPods settings when connected to an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, simplifying the beta testing process for users of iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS Tahoe.
Developers can now access the beta option to enable firmware downloads for testing purposes.
