Upcoming Apple Watch Models: Series 11, Ultra 3, and SE 3
The forthcoming Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and Apple Watch SE 3 are expected to feature an upgraded S11 System in Package (SiP), although processor performance enhancements may be minimal.
Internal details were inadvertently revealed by Apple regarding the new chip, confirming that it will maintain the same T8310 architecture found in the S9 and S10 chips utilized in the Series 9 and Series 10 models. It’s common for Apple to adopt the same architecture across various S-series chips, as seen with the S6, S7, and S8 models which shared core technology.
The S9 and S10 chips incorporate two “Sawtooth” performance cores similar to the A16 Bionic chip. While the technology may be slightly outdated, it still offers significant power for a wearable device. This dual-core 64-bit processor is equipped with a 4-core Neural Engine, second-generation Ultra Wideband (UWB) support, and 64GB of storage capacity.
Even though the fundamental technology remains consistent, Apple may implement other adjustments. For instance, the S10 featured a redesign that allowed for a slimmer profile, optimizing space within the watch. As the S11 chip is anticipated to remain largely unchanged in the 2025 models, expectations are set for the S12 chip in 2026 to introduce a new microarchitecture and performance gains.
Apple’s code has primarily revealed information about the Ultra 3 and Series 11, along with codenames for future devices, including:
- N227: Apple Watch Series 11
- N228: Apple Watch Series 11 (Cellular)
- N230: Apple Watch Ultra 3
- N237: Apple Watch Series 12
- N238: Apple Watch Series 12 (Cellular)
- N240: Apple Watch Ultra 4
The Apple Watch Ultra 3, Series 11, and SE 3 are set to be unveiled at Apple’s upcoming event in September. Keep an eye out for exciting new features and innovations!
