Since its release, the game has evolved, incorporating new features and updates largely driven by your feedback. Our recent improvements to parkour mechanics were directly inspired by ongoing feedback from both in-person and online sessions with our most dedicated players and creators.

It’s time to commemorate this milestone! Tune in to our official Ubisoft Twitch channel for a livestream starting at 10:00 a.m. PT / 6:00 p.m. CET, featuring our latest game update. We may also announce the winners of our Parkour Challenge, along with some exciting drops and giveaways!
As we celebrate, Shadows will enter its final phase of support, transitioning to smaller and less frequent updates, but still with some surprises! Simultaneously, our teams will begin to focus more on the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Although details have been sparse, rest assured that our esteemed team at Ubisoft Montreal is working diligently on this project. Anticipate a unique, darker, narrative-driven Assassin’s Creed adventure set during a critical historical period.
In recent news, I’ve taken on the role of Creative Director for this project while continuing my responsibilities as Head of Content. We are committed to realizing its ambitious vision, and while we’ll be quiet for a bit longer, we appreciate your enthusiasm and look forward to sharing more when the time is right.
Codename INVICTUS is Progressing with a Test and Learn Strategy
Codename INVICTUS is a new player-versus-player multiplayer Assassin’s Creed experience, crafted by a team of veterans from For Honor at Ubisoft Montreal. We recognize your curiosity about this project—it’s a fresh direction for multiplayer within the franchise, albeit different from some of the rumors you’ve heard. Our approach emphasizes player feedback, and we’re looking for ways to engage the community early to collaboratively shape the experience.
The team is truly passionate about their work, aligning with our broader objective of creating a more diverse array of experiences in the Assassin’s Creed universe. Additionally, we have several other projects in various stages of development, including Assassin’s Creed Jade. We are also exploring the return of cooperative play to the series—something we know many of you have been eager for. While we have decided to pivot from an initial project, the insights gained are guiding our future endeavors.
What remains paramount is ensuring that every project gets the time it needs and is released only when it’s ready. Speculation about Assassin’s Creed has always been part of the conversation, but it’s important to reiterate: “Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.” Some whispers, however, may have a bit more substance. Keep an eye on the horizon!

A Free 60 Frames Per Second Patch for Assassin’s Creed Unity Arrives on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on March 5
We know many of you have eagerly awaited this update, so prepare to re-experience 18th-century Paris and Arno’s agile parkour moves with improved fluidity on consoles! Additionally, Xbox users can look forward to a limited-time opportunity to play several Assassin’s Creed games for free during Xbox Free Play Days, from April 2nd to 6th. A perfect opportunity to explore Assassin’s Creed Unity in its enhanced form.
