Joe Amabile on The Future of The Bachelorette Franchise
Joe Amabile is optimistic that the recent cancellation of Taylor Frankie Paul‘s season 22 of The Bachelorette won’t spell the end for the franchise. On the March 22 episode of the podcast “Not Married to This”, which he co-hosts with his wife Serena Pitt, he expressed uncertainty about the franchise’s trajectory.
Concerns About The Franchise’s Future
Joe reflected, “I don’t know what’s going to happen to the franchise. If they do make a comeback, will it be with The Bachelorette or The Bachelor?” He cited from his experience appearing on the show since 2018, stating that rumors of the show’s demise have circulated frequently, yet more discussions around the franchise are happening now than ever before.
Renovated Bachelor Mansion
He mentioned that the iconic Bachelor mansion has undergone renovations, thanks to the HGTV series Bachelor Mansion Takeover, where alumni helped refurbish the estate. Joe is confident that fans can expect a return to the franchise, particularly to The Bachelor.
Domestic Incident Involving Taylor Frankie Paul
Recently, Taylor and her former partner Dakota Mortensen were reportedly involved in a domestic violence incident that led to a suspension of production for season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. An investigation by the Draper City Police Department in Utah confirmed allegations of domestic assault involving both parties.
Taylor’s Statement on the Situation
Taylor addressed the situation at a NYC press dinner, stating, “It’s been hard… I believe that I am a good mother. The headlines are hard to see because that’s not the truth.” Her representatives later emphasized that Taylor had been a victim of abuse and was now taking steps to protect herself and her children.
Legal Consequences for Taylor
Days later, footage surfaced showing Taylor in a physical altercation with Dakota, leading to her arrest on multiple charges including aggravated assault. She ultimately pleaded guilty, but several charges were dismissed.
Response from Dakota
In a statement, Dakota commented on the distressing situation, asserting his focus on their child’s safety. He has since been granted a temporary protective order and custody of their 2-year-old son, Ever.
