Mickey Rourke in Controversy Again
Mickey Rourke, the 72-year-old actor known for his role in “The Wrestler,” is once again facing criticism. His recent appearance on “Celebrity Big Brother” has led to significant backlash, and now actress Bella Thorne has come forward with new allegations against him.
Thorne’s Claims of Misconduct
The 27-year-old former Disney Channel star took to X on Friday to disclose that Rourke left her with “bruises on my pelvic bone” during a filming scene for a movie they worked on together. Her explicit accusations highlight troubling interactions on set.
Thorne described the incident, stating, “This f–king dude. GROSS. I had to work with this man – In a scene where I’m on my knees with my hands zip-tied around my back. He’s supposed to take a metal grinder to my knee cap and instead he used it on my genitals thru my jeans.” She reported experiencing repeated hits that resulted in injuries.
Details from the Set
Although Thorne did not specify the exact project, they collaborated on the horror film “Girl” in 2020. She expanded on her accusations in a follow-up tweet, alleging that Rourke made her endure various uncomfortable situations during filming, including being covered in dirt during a scene that was meant to depict an engine revving.
Rourke’s Response
Representatives for Rourke issued a statement addressing Thorne’s serious allegations. They deemed her claims as “deeply troubling” but affirmed that Rourke “denies any intentional misconduct.” The statement continued, indicating Rourke was unaware of any prior discomfort from Thorne and expresses his willingness to cooperate with any inquiries.
Recent Controversy on “Celebrity Big Brother”
Thorne’s allegations come on the heels of Rourke’s controversial behavior during his stint on “Celebrity Big Brother.” His remarks towards co-host AJ Odudu and contestant JoJo Siwa caused significant uproar, bringing further scrutiny to his actions. Rourke’s use of inappropriate language reportedly led to him issuing an apology under pressure from the show’s producers.
