The 2026 SuperEnduro World Championship resumes this weekend in Bilbao, Spain, with the Prestige class featuring Josep Garcia competing at home and aiming for a stronger podium finish.
As we’ve mentioned before, this weekend is critical for Billy Bolt. If he doesn’t face a significant challenge, it may be too late for others in the Prestige class to halt his advancing path towards a potential sixth title.
While it seems unlikely that anyone will create that challenge, we hope to see a surprise from Jonny Walker, Josep Garcia, Mitch Brightmore, Eddie Karlsson, or anyone else for that matter.
The desire for a new winner isn’t merely a sporting wish; it stems from the fact that when his competitors perform at their best, it pushes Bolt to elevate his own game, making the races even more thrilling.
After a rocky start in Poland, Bolt had a flawless night in Germany, leaving him 30 points ahead. Is he trying to secure his lead early to avoid being away during Roxie’s impending childbirth?
Rookie Garcia Competes at Home
Josep Garcia, still regarded as a rookie, is competing on familiar ground this weekend. The EnduroGP world champion has shown remarkable potential, particularly after surprising himself with a podium finish in Germany despite limited training.
With the support of the Spanish crowd, expectations are high for him to challenge for a first-place finish, and it’s hard to bet against him.
Mitch Brightmore is also on the cusp of making a significant impact. The X-Grip racing rider has had his share of misfortune this season but has shown he possesses the speed to compete and deserves a podium finish.
Recent Performances and Championship Standings
Eddie Karlsson has already achieved a historical podium finish in this season’s first round with Stark Future. However, during the second round, he struggled, handing third place to Josep Garcia after an unfortunate drop in the final moto.
Current Championship Points (Top 10):
- Billy Bolt 123

- Mitch Brightmore 75
- Josep Garcia 70

Filling in the gaps will be riders like Toby Martyn, Dominick Olszowy, Diogo Vieira, Tim Apolle, and Harry Edmondson.
