A major indie game showcase has concluded, revealing an exciting lineup of upcoming titles.
The third edition of the Triple-I Initiative, an annual event highlighting future game releases from various studios, took place on Thursday. This year’s showcase included well-known franchises, such as an indie version of Castlevania and a new installment in the Don’t Starve series, alongside introducing promising new games.
You can catch the full presentation here, but here are some key highlights.

Konami is collaborating with Evil Empire and Motion Twin, known for the popular roguelike Dead Cells, for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse. This new sidescroller was showcased in the latest trailer, highlighting its Parisian atmosphere. The game is set for release this year on PCs and consoles, although it will not follow the roguelike format.

Expansions and New Titles from Popular Franchises
The Don’t Starve gothic survival series is expanding with Don’t Starve Elsewhere, though the release date is yet to be announced. Additionally, Cairn, a climbing game I previously enjoyed, will be releasing a free DLC called On the Trail – Deep Water this summer, marking the start of several upcoming updates.
New Games to Anticipate in 2026
Other standout announcements included early access for Dead as Disco, a music-infused brawler set to release next month, and Super Battle Golf, an entertaining multiplayer golf game arriving on consoles in summer 2026. Additionally, titles like Thick as Thieves and Machine Party are also gearing up for exciting releases this year.
