Bungie recently shared details on the upcoming Destiny 2 Desert Perpetual Epic raid, including a sneak peek at leaked rewards like a Heavy grenade launcher and an Exotic Sparrow.
The Epic edition of the Desert Perpetual raid will commence on Saturday, September 20, at 10 AM PT. This event will feature a comprehensive World First competition along with a 48-hour Contest Mode. Bungie has mentioned that this version introduces new challenges and modifications to encounter mechanics.
During the Contest Mode weekends, the Power level will be standardized. Players who finish the entire raid within the first 48 hours can earn an exclusive emblem. Additionally, Bungie highlighted adjustments to the “Not Swap” modifier: switching specific gear mid-run will reset your ability energy and ammo, with the aim of preventing loadout changes during critical moments in the encounter.
With the introduction of new content comes new rewards. Notably, some items are already circulating online ahead of the launch.
Destiny 2 The Desert Perpetual Epic Raid Leaked Loot
Today, Bungie released their annual expansion showcase for The Edge of Fate on ArtStation, featuring numerous behind-the-scenes concept artworks. Among these is a weapon named “The Ever-Present.” Created by Bungie artist Chase Markham, it is a Heavy grenade launcher that sports the same white/green/gold aesthetic as the previously released Desert Perpetual raid weapons.
Based on its design, it is likely to drop with the Epic version of the raid, though its in-game availability, stats, element, or perks remain unconfirmed.
