Gabriel Diallo faced Taylor Fritz once again on Friday night, this time in a familiar environment.
The much-anticipated rematch of their Wimbledon round-two clash headlined the evening session on Friday, followed by an engaging all-American matchup. The day session also featured two seeds who reached the Masters 1000 finals on hard courts last summer.
CENTRE COURT – Begins at 12:30 PM
- [6] Andrey Rublev d [28] Lorenzo Sonego (ITA) 5-7, 6-4, 6-3
- Rublev found his rhythm after losing the first set, taking quick control in the following two sets. He broke early in the second set and faced no break points. Sonego made attempts to come back in the third, but Rublev quickly broke back to maintain his lead.
- [7] Frances Tiafoe (USA) d. Aleksandar Vukic (AUS) 6-4, 4-6, 6-3
- Vukic held serve well but struggled to keep up in the decisive set. After saving an early break point, Tiafoe finally broke through in the eighth game to secure his victory.

- [2] Taylor Fritz (USA) d. [27] Gabriel Diallo (CAN) 6-4, 6-2
- Fritz started the match with a break and kept Diallo at bay, winning crucial points effortlessly. He added another break late in the match before serving it out.
- [4] Ben Shelton (USA) d. [25] Brandon Nakashima (USA) 6-7(8), 6-2, 7-6(5)
- In a thrilling match, Shelton overcame multiple deficits to defeat Nakashima. After a slow start, he found his groove, ultimately winning with a powerful ace in the tiebreaker.
MOTOROLA RAZR GRANDSTAND COURT – Starts at 11:00 AM
- [20] Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (ESP) d. [12] Jakub Mensik (CZE) 6-2, 6-4
- The Spaniard was extremely efficient, converting all four of his break points in each set.
Not Before 12:30 PM
- [19] Jiri Lehecka (CZE) d. [15] Arthur Fils (FRA) 3-6, 6-3, 6-4
- This match saw servers dominate with just one break in each set. Lehecka bounced back after losing the first set and did not face another break point thereafter.
COURT 1 – Starts at 12:30 PM
- [4] Kevin Krawietz (GER) / Tim Puetz (GER) d. Pedro Martinez (ESP) / Casper Ruud (NOR) 6-2, 6-3
- The German pair ended strongly, especially in the second set, where they rallied from a break down.
- Guido Andreozzi (ARG) / Sander Arends (NED) d. [WC] Nicolas Arseneault (CAN) / Justin Boulais (CAN) 6-0, 6-3
- The young Canadian duo had a rocky start but managed to break early in the second set, although they couldn’t maintain that momentum.
COURT 4 – Starts at 12:30 PM
- [8] Hugo Nys (MON) / Edouard Roger-Vasselin (FRA) d. Nuno Borges (POR) / Tomas Machac (CZE) 6-2, 6-4
- Nys and Roger-Vasselin effectively countered their opponents’ serves, gaining early leads in both sets.
- Maximo Gonzalez (ARG) / Andres Molteni (ARG) d. [5] Simone Bolelli (ITA) / Andrea Vavassori (ITA) 7-6(5), 7-5
- Gonzalez and Molteni staged a comeback from behind, winning crucial points in a thrilling first set tiebreaker.
