The upcoming 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) season will see Dwayne Bravo, a well-known figure, at the helm for the four-time champions Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR). Bravo, who enjoyed his last playing season in September 2024, will take over as head coach starting August 14.
At the CPL draft show on June 18, Bravo’s appointment was officially unveiled by host Alex Jordan, who stated, “Head coach this year for the TKR is Dwayne Bravo, so the Bravo brothers are in full effect.” Bravo has had a remarkable career, participating in over 100 CPL matches and securing five titles, including a 2021 win as captain of the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Colin Borde, the long-time TKR manager, also confirmed Bravo’s new role, emphasizing his experience as a mentor and strategist. Bravo previously served as a bowling consultant for Afghanistan during last year’s T20 World Cup, showcasing his cricketing acumen.
The TKR squad for the 2025 season will welcome back two notable left-handers, Darren Bravo and Colin Munro, both integral to TKR’s past successes. Darren last played in the 2022 CPL campaign, while Munro is celebrated as the leading overseas run-scorer in CPL history with over 2,000 runs.
Borde expressed his excitement regarding the return of both players, highlighting Darren’s skills and deep cricket knowledge. The squad also boasts players like Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, and Nicholas Pooran, who was named the Wisden T20 Cricketer of the Year in 2024.
In addition to TKR’s established core, the team has pursued experienced overseas talent including English opener Alex Hales and Pakistani bowler Mohammad Amir, further strengthening the lineup. TKR has also incorporated players from the inaugural West T20 Breakout League to enhance their squad depth.
The finalized TKR roster for the 2025 CPL season includes: Mohammad Amir, Darren Bravo, Yannic Cariah, Keacy Carty, McKenny Clarke, Joshua Da Silva, Nathan Edward, Alex Hales, Terrance Hinds, Akeal Hosein, Ali Khan, Colin Munro, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and Usman Tariq.
