Rick Reilly is backing up his assertion that Donald Trump is a golf cheat with some bold statements.
Reilly, the author of “Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump,” recently shared a post from Daily Beast reporter Leigh Kimmins McManus on X.
In her message, McManus noted, “I asked the White House to comment on the allegations of Trump cheating at golf, referencing @ReillyRick’s analysis.” White House communications director Steven Cheung responded harshly, labeling Reilly a “washed-up, pathetic loser,” and dismissed his claims as signs of Trump Derangement Syndrome.
Reilly countered, stating, “Trump indeed has ‘countless’ championships, but they’re all fake. Good luck finding one at a course he doesn’t own.” Five hours later, he issued a challenge: if Trump can win without cheating, he would donate $100,000.
Trump has not yet responded to this challenge. Reilly has been particularly vocal on social media, especially after Trump claimed the title at the Bedminster Senior Club Championship, which led McManus to question the White House.
While there’s no solid evidence of cheating, Trump did claim victory at his own club during the recent tournament, finishing with a score of 69. However, Reilly expressed skepticism, questioning how a “chubby 79-year-old” could achieve such a score.
Additionally, Reilly highlighted a video he shared, which allegedly shows Trump’s caddy dropping a ball for him during the tournament, stressing it’s illegal for caddies to do so during a full-score event. He concluded by emphasizing the notion that Trump is indeed a golf cheat. Reilly also pointed out that Trump’s companions in the tournament took all top spots, which raised more eyebrows about the validity of the tournament results.
