Ranking the Most Productive Rookie Classes – PFF
The Eagles ranked fifth among the NFL’s most productive rookie classes of 2024 with 4,577 snaps played and a PFF WAR of 1.20. They revamped their secondary by selecting Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean, both contributing a WAR of 0.55 or higher. Additionally, edge defender Jalyx Hunt achieved a solid 69.0 PFF overall grade on 343 defensive snaps, and both Hunt and special teams contributors Johnny Wilson and Jeremiah Trotter Jr. each secured a PFF special teams grade of 75.3 or higher.
Possible First-Round Draft Picks
The Eagles hosted T.J. Sanders, who is rated as the No. 38 prospect by Pro Football Focus. The 21-year-old defensive tackle from South Carolina played 39 games, starting 16, and recorded 18 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks. He is predicted to be available around pick No. 32, making him a potential target if the Eagles move out of the first round.
Positional Needs for the 2025 NFL Draft
The most pressing need for the Eagles in the upcoming draft is at the interior defensive line. Although they selected multiple players for this position from 2021 to 2023, including Milton Williams and Jordan Davis, they did not add any in the 2024 draft and lost Williams to free agency. With an immediate need for depth and a long-term starter, they are expected to target Walter Nolan from Ole Miss, a highly regarded prospect due to his combination of power and speed.
Ex-Eagles Player’s Cryptic Message
Former Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson has remained silent on social media since being traded to the Houston Texans in March. Recently, he shared an Instagram video stating that he chose to stay quiet after witnessing how certain individuals reacted to his trade, saying, “People showed me their true colors when I got traded.”
Huddle Up for Autism Event
To celebrate Autism Acceptance Month, the Eagles organized their annual Huddle Up for Autism event, which raised essential funds for autism research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Recap details from this enjoyable day and information about next year’s event will be available soon.
League Updates on the “Tush Push” Proposal
Packers President Mark Murphy expressed optimism regarding the adoption of a rule that would ban the controversial “tush push” play. While the proposal was not voted on during the recent league meeting, Murphy anticipates support for the rule, emphasizing safety concerns and the play’s rugby-style nature. A final vote is expected at the next league meeting in May.
