Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll Set to Move to Surrey
The Northern Irish golfer Rory McIlroy has announced that he and his wife, Erica Stoll, will be moving to a new family residence in Surrey next month. This relocation comes as McIlroy prepares for the upcoming US PGA Championship, following his recent achievement of completing the Career Grand Slam at the Masters.
McIlroy, who is 36 years old, recently celebrated a major milestone in his career by winning the coveted Green Jacket at Augusta National in April, thus securing victories in all four golf majors. On a personal level, he and Erica are also approaching an important chapter in their lives with the completion of their new home.
The couple’s new mansion in Wentworth, Surrey, is ready for them to move in alongside their four-year-old daughter, Poppy. McIlroy shared with the Telegraph that they plan to officially settle into their new property after the US Open wraps up on June 15.
Despite this move, the McIlroys will keep their residence in South Florida, a property they purchased from golfer Ernie Els back in 2017, which will continue to serve as their base during PGA Tour events.
McIlroy mentioned that he and Erica visited their new home right after his Masters win to check on its final touches. “After Augusta, we wanted to see the house in its finishing stages,” he noted, adding that their immediate goal was to visit Holywood, his hometown in Northern Ireland.
In the realm of their relationship, this news marks a positive development, especially after the couple reconciled in 2024, following a brief period of separation earlier that year.
Moreover, the decision to establish a UK base appears influenced by Stoll’s preference for more time in England, as McIlroy discussed on the Netflix show “Full Swing.” He mentioned that while his wife may not desire to move immediately, she certainly aims to spend more time there. With upcoming golf events on McIlroy’s schedule, including the US PGA at Quail Hollow Club, the couple is balancing their professional commitments with their family plans.
