On Wednesday, Netflix released its complete film lineup for 2026, detailing release dates for titles like War Machine, Remarkably Bright Creatures, and Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip, while also announcing additional casting for the animated film Swapped, and revealing some exclusive first images.
War Machine, a sci-fi action film featuring Alan Ritchson, is set to premiere on March 6. The plot revolves around an elite team whose final training exercise during US Army Ranger selection evolves into a struggle for survival against an unknown threat. Directed and co-written by Patrick Hughes, the film aims to captivate audiences with its thrilling narrative.
Scheduled for May 8, Remarkably Bright Creatures adapts Shelby Van Pelt’s bestseller. The story centers on a widow working at an aquarium who finds happiness through an unexpected bond with a Giant Pacific Octopus and a young man seeking family. Together, they unravel a mystery that transforms their lives, directed and co-written by Olivia Newman and starring Sally Field and Lewis Pullman.
Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip, which is both written and directed by Tyler Perry, will launch on Netflix on February 13. Following Joe (Perry) as he takes B.J. on a cross-country journey to teach him about life, their trip becomes tumultuous but ultimately enlightening. This film is one of three projects from Perry on the upcoming slate, alongside The Gospel of Christmas and Why Did I Get Married Again?, which have yet to be dated.
The animated feature Swapped, previously titled Pookoo, has added Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer to its cast. While details about their roles remain under wraps, a sneak peek reveals Morgan voices a fish named Boogle. The film portrays an unlikely pair— a small woodland creature and a majestic bird— who must cooperate after magically switching bodies, embarking on an extraordinary adventure together.
Alongside Swapped, Netflix shared initial photos for Enola Holmes 3, the newest chapter in its detective series starring Millie Bobby Brown, and the comedy film Little Brother, featuring John Cena and Eric André. High-profile films set to launch this year without specific dates include various genres, from sci-fi thrillers to romantic comedies, promising an exciting 2026 for Netflix subscribers.
