CARY, N.C. (theACC.com) – Day two of the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Tennis Championship featured two surprising wins and four teams progressing to the next round on Thursday, April 17, at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, North Carolina.
The No. 16 seed Syracuse (11-10, 2-10 ACC) achieved its second consecutive victory in the tournament by defeating No. 9 seed Clemson (14-11, 4-8 ACC) with a close score of 4-3. Another upset occurred during the second rounds when No. 14 seed Wake Forest (15-12, 3-9 ACC) triumphed over No. 11 seed SMU (12-14, 4-8 ACC), winning 4-2.
In the morning matches, No. 12 seed Louisville (13-9, 4-8 ACC) secured a 4-2 victory against No. 13 seed Florida State (13-10, 4-8 ACC). Meanwhile, in the afternoon, No. 10 seed Miami (10-12, 4-8 ACC) defeated No. 15 seed Virginia Tech (13-12, 2-10 ACC) with the same score of 4-2.
The third round is set to commence on Thursday, starting at 10 a.m. ET. The day begins with No. 8 seed Georgia Tech (12-10, 6-6 ACC) facing Syracuse, followed by a match between No. 5 seed California (12-7, 9-3 ACC) and Louisville. The action continues at 12:30 p.m. ET with No. 7 seed Stanford (14-7, 7-5 ACC) going up against Miami, while No. 6 seed Notre Dame (19-4, 4-3 ACC) competes against Wake Forest.
Ticket prices for one day are set at $15 for adults (aged 18 and older) and $10 for children 17 and under, as well as for non-ACC college students possessing a valid student ID. Admission is complimentary for children aged 8 and under, as well as for ACC college students with proper school identification. A full championship pass for all six days is available for $30.
