Tylor Chase
appears to be facing significant challenges since capturing public attention last year.
The former Nickelodeon star is reportedly sleeping on his mother’s porch, using a piece of plywood for partial coverage from onlookers. Authorities have noted that Chase has been resisting offers for medical assistance and housing, a pattern that persisted even after a former colleague attempted to support him.
Current Living Situation
Recent images shared by the New York Post show Tylor looking unkempt while smoking a pipe outside his mother’s home in California, as he continues to struggle with substance abuse. Although he has created a makeshift sleeping area on the porch, it remains unclear if he has permission to stay indoors.
His mother, Paula Moisio, refers to their home as a “safe space” while he faces homelessness. The former child star was previously seen searching through a dumpster for food near a 7-Eleven.
Family’s Struggle and Support
Tylor’s father has publicly discussed his long-standing battles with addiction and mental health issues but revealed that Tylor has declined help. He highlighted the family’s decade-long effort to find effective treatment for Tylor, who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.
Despite a GoFundMe campaign that raised over $1,200 to assist him, his mother shut it down, stating that Tylor needs medical help, not money, which he might misuse.
Chase’s Substance Abuse Confirmation
Tylor confirmed his struggles with substance usage, admitting to using various medications such as Prozac and Adderall, which he claims he receives despite not having significant mental health issues. He expressed a desire to visit his father in Georgia, hoping for a better living situation.
Law Enforcement Awareness
Law enforcement has stated that Chase is not wanted for any crimes but has been arrested multiple times for misdemeanors, primarily for shoplifting. Officers of the Riverside Police Department regularly encounter him and attempt to engage him in mental health and treatment programs, but Chase has declined these offers.
