Gabriela Fundora claimed another knockout win, successfully defending her undisputed flyweight championship for the third time this past Saturday.
In her first bout of 2026, Fundora (18-0, 10 KOs) showcased her skills with an impressive performance against Viviana Ruiz Corredor (10-3, 5 KOs), the WBA mandatory challenger, securing a sixth-round knockout. Fundora controlled the fight from the start, knocking down Ruiz Corredor in the fifth round with a fierce left hook. The fight was halted in the sixth round when the referee, Ray Corona, stopped the action as Ruiz Corredor received a barrage of unanswered blows while trapped on the ropes.
This victory marks Fundora’s fourth consecutive knockout and her sixth in the last seven matches, reinforcing her status as a formidable rising champion in boxing. As a result of this win, she climbs to No. 3 in the women’s pound-for-pound rankings, surpassing Amanda Serrano.
