Gwyneth Paltrow Addresses Speculated Feud with Meghan Markle
Gwyneth Paltrow has clarified rumors of a rift between herself and Meghan Markle.
The 52-year-old Goop founder spoke out after speculation arose about her allegedly “throwing shade” at the 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex. This gossip was fueled by a recent Instagram video where Paltrow was seen cooking breakfast in her pajamas.
Observers interpreted her post as veiled criticism aimed at Markle, who has just launched her Netflix cooking show, “With Love, Meghan,” alongside her lifestyle brand, As Ever.
Critics praised Paltrow for her authenticity, noting her choice to film in her own kitchen rather than in a staged setting, contrasting with Markle.
“No fake house, fake kitchen, fake hair extensions, fake friends—just your beautiful, true self,” one commenter remarked. Another added, “Gwyneth Paltrow continues to throw shade & I’m here for it!”
However, Paltrow indicated she was unaware her video was being seen as a jab at Markle. During a recent Instagram Q&A, she addressed a question regarding the supposed tension between them.
“I genuinely do not understand this,” she said, before showcasing Markle sitting beside her, confused by the speculation. Shortly after, Markle shared the clip on her own Instagram Story.
Paltrow, who revealed she doesn’t personally know Markle and Prince Harry, expressed surprise given their proximity. She mentioned having met Markle and found her to be “really lovely,” but stated, “I don’t know her at all.”
Despite any criticism Markle’s new Netflix show has faced, Paltrow maintained a supportive stance towards her, emphasizing the importance of women uplifting one another. “Another woman is never your competition… What is right for you will find you,” she reflected.
