Kansas City Chiefs OTA Session Recap
On Wednesday, the Kansas City Chiefs held their sixth organized team activity (OTA) session for the 2025 season at their practice facility located in the Truman Sports Complex.

Weather Conditions
It was a warmer viewing session for this week’s OTA than last week, with temperatures starting in the high 60s and reaching the low 70s by the practice’s conclusion.

Player Availability
Notably, the primary running backs were missing, along with several key offensive skill players. Among those absent were RBs Isiah Pacheco and Kareem Hunt, WRs Hollywood Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster, and tight ends Travis Kelce and Tre Watson.
Limited Participation
RT Jawaan Taylor and CB Kristian Fulton attended practice but appeared limited. TE Jared Wiley and LT Jaylon Moore were at the workout without a helmet.

Rookie Highlights
The standout story of the day was the involvement of first-round rookie Josh Simmons, who participated in team scrimmage drills for the first time. OL coach Andy Heck noted that Simmons performed well.

Defensive and Offensive Plays
Throughout the session, cornerback Nazeeh Johnson made a highlight play, breaking up a pass intended for Mahomes, which ultimately led to an interception by Trent McDuffie. Quarterback Mahomes displayed notable accuracy, connecting with various receivers including WR Xavier Worthy and TE Jake Brinningstool.
Upcoming Schedule
The Chiefs will resume activities next week with their final four Phase 3 sessions scheduled from Tuesday to Friday. Reporters will be present next Thursday, and the team’s mandatory minicamp will be held the following week.
