William Storey’s Debut as Boxing Promoter
On Friday at the historic York Hall in Bethnal Green, London, William Storey, the CEO of Rich Energy, made an impressive entrance into the world of professional boxing promotion.
A Stellar Headline Fight
Rather than host a regular small-event with local boxers, Storey opted to make a bold statement by featuring American heavyweight Michael ‘The Bounty’ Hunter (24-1-2) as the headline fighter against the unbeaten Eli ‘Fat Boy’ Frankham (9-0-0).
Undercard Highlight
The undercard showcased significant names, including six-time, five-division World Champion Lee ‘Aberdeen Assassin’ McAllister (52-3-0) versus Ghana’s Theophilus Tetteh (19-10-2), and rising stars like Charley Leigh Brown and George Juby.
Controversial Commission Choice
A surprising choice for the event’s governing body was the British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA), which raised some eyebrows among media and fans alike.
A Thrilling Contest
Concerns regarding the mismatch between Hunter and Frankham quickly dissipated once the fight began. From the first round, both fighters engaged fully, delivering a spectacular display of skill and determination.
Fight Highlights
The match featured intense action, with judges divided in their scoring throughout the rounds. Frankham showed promise but was ultimately felled by Hunter’s powerful left hook and right uppercut in the fourth round, leading to a decisive knockdown.
Overall Event Success
Overall, it was a night filled with outstanding boxing, and both Hunter and Frankham proved their worth as warriors in the ring. Storey’s promotion was a resounding success, and fans are eagerly looking forward to the next Rich Energy event on February 28, 2026.
