With a thrilling performance, Italy raced into the overall lead for the World Trophy. After starting the day trailing France by thirty-four seconds, they quickly closed the gap, finishing just two seconds behind after the first special test. By the second test, Italy had taken the lead by twenty-six seconds and finished Day Two with a remarkable one minute and forty-seven seconds advantage.
