Jaguars Embrace New Uniforms and Nostalgia
The Jacksonville Jaguars were highly proactive last season regarding their uniform choices. They not only unveiled a new white helmet, but they also excited Duval and NFL fans alike by introducing a throwback uniform. This classic design was worn not just once, but astonishingly made a second appearance in the previous season 12 different uniform combinations, keeping them among the league leaders for diverse styles over recent seasons. One of the combinations that stood out was, of course, the beloved “Prowler” throwbacks.
A Fan Favorite
These throwback uniforms have gained considerable popularity, especially with the Jaguars’ Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Tony Boselli, who is a former player.
Exciting Announcements
In a recent appearance on “Jaguars Today” on 1010 XL, Boselli shared his enthusiasm:
“I would wear those damn (Prowler uniforms) EVERY GAME if we were allowed to.” 👀

League Changes Benefit the Jaguars
With the NFL’s updated policies on alternate uniforms for 2025, teams can now feature their alternate jerseys up to four times a season. This allows for greater flexibility in wearing throwbacks, something Boselli confirmed the Jaguars intend to capitalize on.
“I believe it’s four times that we can wear the Prowlers, and we’re going to maximize and wear those Prowlers as much as we can,” Boselli stated, hinting at a possible rotation that may leave the new white helmets less frequently seen this year.
The Future of Jaguars’ Uniforms
While the Jaguars last redesigned their uniforms in 2018, so they indeed could integrate the Prowler throwbacks as primaries, it appears that change won’t occur just yet. Boselli made it clear that while fans may wish for a shift, the announcement of their permanent status isn’t imminent for this season.
In summary, we can expect the Jaguars to wear their throwback uniforms four times this upcoming season, but any alterations to make these throwbacks permanent will have to wait. What do you think? Are the throwbacks your preferred choice? Will you miss the white helmet? Share your thoughts!
