Today marked the 11th practice session for the Philadelphia Eagles’ training camp in preparation for the 2025 NFL season. The practice, held at the NovaCare Complex, lasted approximately 1 hour and 25 minutes. Here are my observations.
Jalen Hurts had a productive practice, successfully completing a layered pass to Johnny Wilson, placing the ball perfectly for the tall receiver. He also made a solid short completion to Dallas Goedert.
However, Hurts did overthrow Saquon Barkley in the flat during a play near the end zone and had one of his passes batted down at the line of scrimmage.
Jalyx Hunt participated in offensive line versus defensive line drills but was later absent during team drills. ESPN’s Tim McManus noted that Hunt visited the medical tent about 20 minutes into practice, so this will be monitored.
Injury updates include:
– WR A.J. Brown (hamstring)
– WR Elijah Cooks (shoulder)
– OT Kenyon Green (shoulder)
– LS Charley Hughlett (neck)
– RB Montrell Johnson Jr. (hamstring)
– TE Cameron Latu (knee)
– DT Byron Young (groin)
Brown was seen running prior to practice, which is a hopeful sign despite missing four consecutive sessions. Johnson and Young have also each missed four and three straight practices, respectively. Cooks and Green both faced injuries in the first preseason game, complicating their roster chances.
In notable practice returns, LB Zack Baun returned in a limited capacity after missing six practices. Meanwhile, the Eagles appear to be managing OG Landon Dickerson’s workload effectively, with Brett Toth stepping in as the first-team left guard.
Dorian Thompson-Robinson had a standout moment, throwing a touchdown to Taylor Morin and then connecting with him again for a successful two-point conversion at the end of practice.
Jalen Carter’s Performance
Jalen Carter demonstrated his potential as a dominant force, strip-sacking Hurts and excelling in one-on-one drills, showing that he can elevate his game significantly.
Position Battle Updates
In the cornerback position, Kelee Ringo has been prominently featured, breaking up a pass in what seemed to be an early contact situation. Eli Ricks made an impressive interception for a touchdown during practice, showcasing his skills.
