The Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers Injury Reports
The Detroit Lions (8-6) and Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6) have released their initial injury reports for Week 16 as they gear up for their matchup. Both squads are contending with significant injuries, particularly on their defensive lines.
Latest Injury Update
Here’s the current injury report. Any updates from the previous report will be bolded.
- TE Brock Wright (neck, IR) — Eligible for return in Week 18
- LT Giovanni Manu (knee, IR) — Evaluation clock started
- LG Christian Mahogany (fibula, IR) — Started injury evaluation clock
- LB Zach Cunningham (hamstring, IR)
With Manu back at practice, the Lions have utilized seven of their eight return-from-injured-reserve spots, including Mahogany, who is also under evaluation. This leaves one spot available for the remainder of the regular season. Wright has been seen practicing and is likely to return before Cunningham, though he can’t begin practicing until Week 18. If the Lions make the playoffs, they gain two additional return spots from IR.
Additional Players of Note
- LT Taylor Decker (shoulder)
- S Kerby Joseph (knee)
Decker often rests during practice but has managed to play on game days, so expect him to continue this trend as the season progresses. Meanwhile, Joseph faced a setback last week, raising doubts about his ability to recover for the remainder of the season.

- RB Sione Vaki (thumb)
- OL Trystan Colon (knee) – Injured in Week 15
