Liverpool is gearing up for a busy summer transfer season, having already made several moves in the early off-season.
While the official transfer market hasn’t opened yet, recent transactions were allowed due to a short-term opportunity created by the upcoming Club World Cup.
The club’s owners, FSG, have capitalized on this, successfully securing around £10m from the sale of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who opted for an early departure as Real Madrid wanted him for matches in the United States this month, despite being just a month away from free agency.
Liverpool has also signed Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, activating his £29.5m release clause. Florian Wirtz is close to joining for a British-record fee, and discussions are advancing regarding Bournemouth’s left-back Milos Kerkez.
Additionally, Liverpool is on the lookout for a new striker. However, several player exits are anticipated, particularly as Luis Diaz could potentially find himself at a new club before the summer’s end.
Potential Luis Diaz Transfer
Clubs like Barcelona and Al-Hilal from the Saudi Pro League are reportedly interested in Diaz, with recent reports indicating that Barcelona had an approach turned down.
With only two years remaining on his £55k-per-week contract, FSG is wary of losing one of Arne Slot’s key forwards without an adequate offer. The anticipated asking price for Diaz ranges between £60-70m, but it remains uncertain if any clubs will meet this valuation.
Concerns Surrounding Jarell Quansah
In addition to Diaz, center-back Jarell Quansah has attracted attention from Bayer Leverkusen, with Newcastle also showing interest. Despite a tough season, Quansah has proven his worth and could be a valuable asset for Liverpool moving forward.
