LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Looking Ahead to the 2025-26 Basketball Season
As June approaches, only five months remain until college basketball returns. It’s never too soon to explore the anticipated roster for the Louisville men’s basketball team for the 2025-26 season.
Currently, there remains one vacant spot on the roster for next season. Given the progress of the offseason, it’s likely that Team 112 for the Cardinals is nearing completion.
In just ten days since our last roster update on May 31, Louisville has added another international player to its lineup.
Recently, Greek forward/center Vangelis Zougris, a player linked to the Cardinals for several weeks, officially committed to UofL. Competing with Peristeri B.C. in the Greek Basketball League, the 20-year-old averaged 7.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists last season, shooting an impressive 68.5 percent from the field.
Zougris marks Louisville’s fourth recruit in the Class of 2025, joining point guard Mikel Brown Jr. from Daytona Beach (Fla.) DME Academy, along with German forward/center Sananda Fru and Senegalese forward Mouhamed Camara—though both Fru and Camara have yet to sign. This brings the total newcomers for next season to seven, including transfers Ryan Conwell (Xavier), Isaac McKneely (Virginia), and Adrian Wooley (Kennesaw State).
The Cardinals have experienced some turnover with eight players leaving the program this offseason. Graduates include Frank Anselem-Ibe, Terrence Edwards Jr., Chucky Hepburn, Reyne Smith, Aboubacar Traore, and Noah Waterman, while Koren Johnson and James Scott transferred to Ole Miss.
With the current roster state known, here’s an early perspective on next season’s depth chart:
