Luka Vuskovic is emerging as one of Europe’s brightest young talents, particularly at Tottenham Hotspur, while on loan at Hamburg.
Currently on loan at Hamburg, Vuskovic, a 19-year-old defender, has expressed his intention to remain at Tottenham Hotspur next season. His strong performances in the Bundesliga have attracted interest from Bayern Munich, among other top clubs.
In his time in the Bundesliga this season, Vuskovic has played 24 matches and scored five goals from a central defensive position. His contributions have significantly helped Hamburg avoid relegation, with only goal difference keeping them from breaking into the top half of the league standings.
Since joining Hamburg, Vuskovic has garnered considerable acclaim, being praised by football legends like Lothar Matthaus, Vincent Kompany, and Luka Modric. His talent has drawn the attention of elite clubs, which may pose a challenge for Roberto De Zerbi in keeping him at Tottenham.
Fortunately for Spurs, Vuskovic’s contract runs until June 2030. In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, he shared insights about his future, emphasizing it would be a ‘dream’ to play alongside his brother, Mario, either at Hamburg or their childhood club, Hajduk Split.
While acknowledging the uncertainty of football, Vuskovic remarked that playing on the same pitch with his brother remains his ultimate aspiration. He stated, “After this season, I’ll return to Tottenham as I am contracted there until 2030.”
Reflecting on Mario’s recent four-year ban for a doping violation, Vuskovic highlighted the support his brother received from Hamburg and expressed confidence in Mario’s potential return to the pitch. He believes that the challenges Mario faced will only make him stronger upon his comeback.
