Manchester United Secure Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for £71 Million
Manchester United has successfully finalized the acquisition of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford for a fee of £71 million. The Cameroonian forward has signed a long-term contract worth £200,000 per week at Old Trafford, although the club is reportedly unhappy with Brentford’s handling of the transfer.
Finally, Manchester United has secured the signing of their target, with Mbeumo now set to join his new teammates on their pre-season tour in the United States. As the club’s new No. 19, Mbeumo may even debut against West Ham United this weekend, following a stellar season where he netted 20 goals in the Premier League.
After an extensive eight-week negotiation process, United’s management expressed their frustration over Brentford’s actions, which they believe aimed to disrupt Mbeumo’s transfer to Old Trafford. United claims Brentford attempted to facilitate the forward’s sale to other clubs.
Mbeumo had his heart set on joining Manchester United from the start. However, United management is fuming over Brentford’s alleged push for him to consider moves to clubs like Newcastle, Tottenham, Arsenal, and a late offer from Chelsea. Brentford is accused of pressuring Mbeumo to lower his wage demands to enhance their Financial returns.
Despite Brentford’s attempts to redirect Mbeumo’s future, he remained determined to join United. Initially, Brentford sought £70 million plus £7 million in add-ons, but after negotiations, the deal was settled at £71 million, with performance-related bonuses included.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Mbeumo commented, “The chance to join Manchester United was too good to pass up—this is the club of my dreams. I’ll strive to elevate my game playing with world-class players and under the guidance of Ruben Amorim.”
Mbeumo’s unwavering commitment ultimately led to his membership at Manchester United, marking a significant milestone in his career.
