The Seattle Mariners will have a strong presence at this year’s World Baseball Classic.
On Thursday, MLB Network unveiled the full rosters for the 20 teams participating in the event. The Mariners boast 16 players across 12 different teams, an increase from the 10 players they had in 2023. Each team in the WBC consists of 30-player rosters.
Mariners Representation
Among the Mariners participating, eight are established major leaguers, two are vying for spots from spring training, and six are minor leaguers. This contingent features two-thirds of the major league starting outfield, their primary catcher, their starting first baseman, two relief pitchers, and a top 100 prospect.
Participants Announced
Before the roster announcement, Seattle had four confirmed players: catcher Cal Raleigh (USA), center fielder Julio Rodríguez (Dominican Republic), left fielder Randy Arozarena (Mexico), and reliever Gabe Speier (USA).
WBC Schedule
The tournament kicks off with pool play on Thursday, March 5, and wraps up with the championship match on Tuesday, March 17, at loanDepot Park in Miami.

United States: Cal Raleigh, C
Gabe Speier, LHP
Raleigh joins the WBC for the first time, while Speier was named to the team on January 14.
Dominican Republic: Julio Rodríguez, OF
Rodríguez made his WBC debut in 2023, hitting .278 with a double and three RBIs in four games.
Mexico: Randy Arozarena, OF
Andrés Muñoz, RHP
Arozarena had a standout 2023 WBC, batting .450 with nine RBIs, while Muñoz will also make his WBC debut.
Local Ties and Former Mariners
Three local players with past ties to the Mariners are participating: pitcher Matthew Boyd (USA), pitcher Riley O’Brien (Korea), and outfielder Stuart Fairchild (Chinese Taipei). Additionally, Seattle native Corbin Carroll plays for the U.S. Former Mariners include Eugenio Suárez (Venezuela), Edwin Díaz (Puerto Rico), and several others across various countries.
