Mastering the Game in 120 Balls: Insights from Ryan ten Doeschate

Given this context, Ryan ten Doeschate, India’s assistant coach, stated that they are favorites for the Asia Cup match against Pakistan, though he cautioned the team is not under any “illusion” about the challenge ahead. “At this level of cricket, how well you execute on the day matters greatly. Honestly, given the recent performances, I believe India is the favorite for tomorrow,” ten Doeschate remarked. “Our focus will be on the 120 balls with bat and ball, and consistency will be key during that period.”

Ten Doeschate emphasized that there were no extraordinary preparations for this match. The focus had been on managing controllable factors, a point that coach Gautam Gambhir reiterated in team meetings leading up to the game. He noted that the atmosphere leading up to the Champions Trophy game was expected to be more intense.
