Graduation Day for Prospects
This year, graduation day took place on May 11. This is when players who began the 2025 season on Major League Opening Day rosters reached over 45 days of service time, thereby ending their rookie eligibility and prospect status. Locally, we refer to this transition as “graduating from prospectdom.”
Top 100 Prospects Departures
On that day, three Top 100 prospects exited the list: Kristian Campbell from the Red Sox, Cam Smith from the Astros, and Drake Baldwin from the Braves. Additionally, Roki Sasaki, a right-handed pitcher for the Dodgers and a former No. 1 overall prospect, graduated earlier on May 2 due to the Dodgers’ initial season in Tokyo.
Market Corrections Rather Than New Additions
Instead of introducing three new names to MLB Pipeline’s Top 100, we’re taking this opportunity to apply a “market correction.” We typically conduct two full updates annually—one at the start of the season and one midseason that accounts for the latest Draft class. However, we’ve been making adjustments approximately every six weeks, which often include complete revotes on the top 15, moving players up or down over 10 spots, and replacing struggling prospects with new talent.

Spotlight on Top Prospects
Roman Anthony retains the top spot post-Sasaki’s graduation. At just 20 years old, the Red Sox outfielder displays impressive stats in Triple-A, showing consistent power and discipline. Meanwhile, Bubba Chandler rises to No. 2, showcasing exceptional skills in his age-22 season, particularly with a dominating fastball. Leo De Vries also makes significant strides, moving up to No. 3 as a top shortstop prospect.
New Rising Stars and Recent Additions
Among those making waves in the new rankings, George Lombard Jr. (SS, Yankees) and Jesús Made (SS, Brewers) are experiencing significant rises due to their impressive performances. Lombard has transitioned well into Double-A at just 19, while Made shows advanced skills in Single-A. Other notable newcomers such as Robby Snelling (LHP, Marlins) and Brady House (3B, Nationals) have re-entered the Top 100 after strong displays.
Biggest Droppers
On the flip side, several players have seen their rankings decline, with Brandon Sproat (RHP, Mets) dropping significantly due to issues missing bats at the Triple-A level. Injuries have also severely impacted players like Chase DeLauter (OF, Guardians) and Tink Hence (RHP, Cardinals), who are struggling to regain their prior form.
