Welcome to the latest edition of Missed Fists, where we highlight noteworthy fights from around the world that may have slipped under the radar amid the constant stream of MMA events.
A key factor in fight scoring is assessing the effectiveness of strikes. It’s well-known that landing numerous significant strikes can lose significance if an opponent delivers a single blow that knocks you down or stuns you. Scoring becomes especially tricky when neither fighter seems to be visibly impacted, making it hard to judge the real effect of their blows unless you’re in the cage with them.
Thankfully, we have an objective method to gauge the power of a knockout punch: measuring how far a mouthpiece flies when struck.

Michael Alsop vs. Jesse WynneKallum Parker vs. Emmanuel Ritti
At Eternal MMA 99 in Perth, Australia, Michael Alsop delivered a powerful right hand to Jesse Wynne, sending Wynne’s mouthpiece flying at least 10 feet—a distance matching the referee’s position when Alsop delivered additional strikes on the ground. One wonders what purpose the ref served being so far away.
Kallum Parker aggressively overwhelmed Emmanuel Ritti, ignoring Ritti’s defenses and ultimately achieving a decisive knockout.
Elias Rodriguez vs. Dylan BookerBryce Woerner vs. Trevor GriceFinn Martin vs. Trevor Linderman
At LFA 219, Elias Rodriguez sensed an opportunity and closed in with a jumping knee and a lunging left hook, succeeding in bringing Dylan Booker down against the cage. Following up with a solid right and brutal uppercut, Rodriguez secured a decisive finish.
Meanwhile, Bryce Woerner, fighting from Tennessee, left with Trevor Grice’s neck after mounting a strong offense, while Trevor Linderman nearly edged out Finn Martin but ultimately fell victim to Martin’s comeback in a bloody encounter—all within the first round.
