Nelly Korda has announced her withdrawal from the upcoming Hanwha Lifeplus International Crown in two weeks due to injury.
This decision substantially diminishes Team USA’s prospects of winning their first International Crown since 2016.
Yealimi Noh, ranked 26 spots lower on the world leaderboard, will take Korda’s place on Team USA. Noh, however, has proven her capabilities, having claimed her first LPGA title at the Founders Cup earlier this year.
The Hanwha LifePlus International Crown is a biennial team golf tournament for women on the LPGA, featuring eight different teams. For more details, check the information at the bottom of this page.
Despite securing seven victories on the LPGA last season, Korda, now 27, has yet to win in 2025, although she has achieved eight top-10 finishes and earned $2.2 million so far this year. Her lack of wins this year is surprising for someone so prominent in women’s golf.
Korda has been unable to secure a victory in almost a year since her last win at The Annika. Her current ranking has dropped to second in the world, behind Jeeno Thitikul, due to a combination of injuries and struggles in her performance—most notably a sharp decline in her wedge play.
While she initially expected to participate in the International Crown, Korda acknowledged ongoing injury issues after a recent tournament. She stated that her body feels worn down and emphasized her goal to be at full fitness ahead of the season’s final tournaments in November.
