Red Bull KTM Tech3 Acquired by New Investors
Red Bull KTM Tech3, one of the longest-standing and most esteemed teams in the MotoGP World Championship, announced a deal today in which David Blitzer’s Bolt Ventures and Main Street Advisors have teamed up with IKON Capital to purchase the team. Under the guidance of Tech3 CEO Guenther Steiner, a veteran Formula 1 Team Principal and seasoned motorsport executive, the new investors aim to position Tech3 as a leading presence in MotoGP while enhancing the sport’s global visibility.
Guenther Steiner shared his excitement about entering MotoGP, stating, “It was essential for IKON Capital and me to unite with investors who share a long-term vision for Tech3.” He emphasized the importance of working with partners who not only understand motorsport but also add genuine value. Steiner reaffirmed the commitment to maintain Tech3’s legacy while strategically planning for growth, focusing on building upon existing successes.
This acquisition marks a key development for Tech3, as the collaboration among Bolt Ventures, Main Street Advisors, and IKON Capital brings substantial expertise and industry connections to enhance the MotoGP team’s operations. With new capital from these top investors, Tech3 is set to improve its competitive performance, refine its commercial infrastructure, and enhance its brand visibility through increased fan engagement and sponsorship opportunities.
Markus Gloël and Damien O’Donohoe, co-founders of IKON Capital, acknowledged the previous owner’s dedication, stating, “We thank Hervé Poncharal and everyone at Tech3 for their warm welcome as we embark on this new chapter.” They expressed enthusiasm about partnering with experienced investors to elevate Tech3 and expand the championship’s global reach.
David Blitzer, who uniquely holds ownership stakes in all five major U.S. professional leagues, adds significant industry knowledge to the venture.
