Paramedics Respond to Ozzy Osbourne
Reports indicate that paramedics dedicated two hours to treating Ozzy Osbourne prior to his passing on Tuesday, July 22.
Emergency Response Details
According to the Daily Mail, an air ambulance was dispatched to Welders House, BLACK SABBATH singer’s residence in Buckinghamshire, UK, early Tuesday morning. The helicopter landed in a nearby field just 15 minutes later, around 10:30 a.m., and the paramedics returned to their base in RAF Benson, located 27 miles away, at 12:30 p.m.
Family’s Reaction
In a statement to The Mirror, Ozzy‘s 85-year-old sister, Jean Powell, expressed her shock at his unexpected death, stating, “He was frail, but it still came as a shock. He still had plans and things he wanted to do.”
Announcement of His Passing
Ozzy’s family announced his death on the morning of July 22, stating, “With a heavy heart, we report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning, surrounded by family and love. We ask for privacy during this time.”
Health Struggles Over the Years
While a cause of death was not revealed, Osbourne had faced numerous health issues over recent years, including Parkinson’s disease and injuries from a fall in 2019. Diagnosed in 2003 with Parkin 2, a rare genetic form of the disease, his health struggles had led to the cancellation of some tours.
Recent Performances Despite Health Challenges
Despite his ongoing health challenges, Ozzy managed to perform a few times in the last three years, including appearances at the Commonwealth Games in August 2022 and at an NFL halftime show in September 2022. His last performance occurred less than three weeks prior at Villa Park, where he expressed gratitude to his fans.
Legacy and Family
Ozzy is survived by his wife, Sharon, their children Aimee, Kelly, and Jack, as well as his two older children from his first marriage, Jessica and Louis, along with grandchildren.
