Warning: This article reveals spoilers about season 2, episode 11 of Deal Or No Deal Island.
Parvati Shallow, known for her experience on Survivor, showcased her skills in immunity throughout her time on Deal or No Deal Island season 2. She held elimination immunity for nine consecutive weeks but was eliminated the first time she lacked it.
In this week’s episode of DONDI, Parvati engaged the Banker but ended up making a poor deal, placing fourth for the season. What are her thoughts on her experience on Banker’s island, her long streak of safety, her relationship with David Genat, and the moment she was criticized by Phillip Solomon? We spoke with the iconic Black Widow to dive into these topics and more.
ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: You mentioned you’re not good with math and found it hard to focus while Boston Rob advised you on interacting with the Banker. How was your experience at the Temple during that time?
PARVATI SHALLOW: It felt surreal. I enjoyed my time with [host] Joe [Manganiello] but became lost in the selection process for the cases. Unlike others who seemed strategic in their number choices, I felt out of my depth despite excelling in prior challenges.
What allowed you to maintain your safety for nine weeks?
My strength in challenges plays a significant role! I thrive under pressure, and something about the competitions fuels my excitement for the game. Additionally, luck seemed to be on my side with unexpected fortunate events. Finding a four-leaf clover in the jungle felt like a good omen. Collaborating with David, who had a strong strategic mind, also helped solidify my safety. Everything aligned perfectly, giving me the edge over the others.
With your strong bond with David, how much was real and how much was gameplay?
David is entertaining; we connected right away. These connections are rare, so I leaned into it. His strategic thinking complemented mine nicely. Affection intertwined with gameplay is crucial because understanding that it’s a competitive game helps reduce personal feelings when making tough decisions.
