In a race filled with chaos, cautions, and thrilling moments, Felipe Nasr successfully led Porsche Penske Motorsport to triumph in the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring.
With just under 18 minutes remaining, Nasr expertly defended his position against teammate Kevin Estre, crossing the finish line with a lead of 1.515 seconds on the demanding 3.74-mile track.
Final Podium Standings
Ricky Taylor secured third place, putting Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing on the podium’s final step. The pole-sitter, Jack Aitken, finished fourth in his #31 Whelen Cadillac, while Tom Blomqvist rounded out the top five in the #60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing vehicle.
GTD Drama
The most thrilling moment came in the GTD category, where Antonio Fuoco worked through several penalties to execute a last-lap maneuver against Tom Gamble, securing victory for AF Corse USA.
Race Developments
During Hour 8, Laurin Heinrich retained his lead over teammate Laurens Vanthoor, while Whelen Cadillac’s Earl Bamber applied pressure in third. An incident resulted in Fuoco receiving a drive-thru penalty, allowing Riccardo Pera in the #912 Porsche to take the lead in GTD.
Late Race Actions and Strategies
As the race neared its conclusion, strategic pit stops split the Penske Porsches, with Nasr taking a lead while Estre opted for fresh tires. The top order shifted rapidly due to multiple cautions and penalties, leading to intense battles, particularly for positions in GTP and GTD.
Final Push to Victory
With under 20 minutes left, Nasr and Estre increased their gap over Aitken. Despite attempts from Fuoco to return to the front in GTD, it was Gamble who led until a misstep allowed Fuoco to take first place at the very end, marginally clinching victory by 0.824 seconds. In LMP2, Mikkel Jensen held off teammate Paul Di Resta during the close finish.
Nasr’s overall win marked his third triumph in this historic race (2019, 2025). Full results to follow…
