Quechan Casino Threats Reported
Security staff at Quechan Casino informed authorities of a person who allegedly threatened to shoot or blow up the casino. Call logs from the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office note that the threat was reported at 11:47 p.m. on May 20, with the individual reportedly staying at the hotel.
The sheriff’s office could not contact the individual, and it was unclear whether he had left the casino or was asleep in his room. This incident followed the person’s frustration regarding the cleanliness of his rented room. It was reported that the customer, allegedly under the influence of drugs, threatened violence if he did not receive a cleaner room. He was subsequently given a different room but was not seen again in the casino after entering.

Driver Found with Gun and Ammunition
On Wednesday morning, a driver was stopped by deputies at Interstate 8 and Algodones Road for possessing a concealed firearm. At 1:46 a.m., the driver of a white Chevrolet Cruze received a verbal warning after deputies found an unloaded Glock 27 handgun in the glove compartment and ammunition magazines in the trunk. The driver was instructed to secure the firearm in the trunk and relocate the ammunition.

Felon Arrested for Firearm Possession
A man was arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition on May 20. The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office logs indicate that deputies stopped him at 12:04 p.m. on Palm Drive, discovering he had an outstanding felony warrant. Chayce Wolfe Guerin, 44, was booked into jail at 2:03 p.m. on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and for having illegal ammunition.

Out-of-County Warrant Arrests
Agents from Customs and Border Protection apprehended a man at the Calexico East Port of Entry on Tuesday night for an out-of-county arrest warrant. According to logs, Javier Cervantes Garcia, 35, was booked into the county jail without bail at 1:06 a.m. on May 21. Additionally, another man, Kevin Cervantes, 19, was arrested on Second Street for a similar warrant and booked into jail with a $50,000 bail at 6:25 a.m. on May 20.

Deputies arrested a man in Santa Barbara for arson of an inhabited structure and for displaying a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Roger Neal James, 66, was booked into the county jail with a $20,000 bail at 10:56 a.m. on May 20.
