On Saturday night, March 14, 2026, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) held UFC Vegas 114 at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the main event, former title challenger Josh Emmett aimed to secure a victory against the emerging knockout artist Kevin Vallejos. While the rest of the fighters on the card didn’t particularly stand out, a closer look revealed that all matchups hinted at thrilling action. Following some lackluster previous cards, fans were in need of excitement!
Here’s a recap of the standout performances and techniques from the evening:
Kevin Vallejos wasted no time dismantling Josh Emmett, but he remained patient in looking for the knockout.
Emmett attempted to lure Vallejos in with lateral movement and direction shifts, reminiscent of cornerman TJ Dillashaw. However, Vallejos resisted the temptation to engage, favoring powerful kicks and prompting Emmett to take the initiative. When Emmett lunged forward with powerful strikes or combinations, Vallejos expertly retreated slightly, planted his feet, and replied with rapid punches.
It requires a lot of confidence to stand toe-to-toe with Emmett, especially early in the fight. Vallejos, young and confident, displayed his skills effectively, landing hard blows right from the outset and preventing the seasoned fighter from establishing himself in the match.
After this victory, Vallejos is on track to break into the Top 10 with significant momentum.
In the co-main event, Amanda Lemos opened strong against Gillian Robertson, effectively managing distance with long jabs, open stance crosses, and effective chopping kicks. However, as the fight continued and Robertson initiated wrestling exchanges, Lemos’s reliance on physicality proved ineffective. Despite her athleticism, Lemos struggled to counter Robertson’s relentless pressure, leading to a decisive win for Robertson.
