FORMULA 1 STAR Sergio “Checo” Pérez TO THROW CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH AT DODGER STADIUM ON WEDNESDAY
LOS ANGELES – Sergio “Checo” Pérez, a Formula 1® driver and six-time Grand Prix champion, will throw the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday prior to the Dodgers’ 7:10 p.m. game against the Philadelphia Phillies at Dodger Stadium. This event is part of the celebrations for Mexican Heritage Month and the upcoming Mexican Independence Day.
Checo, who boasts over 30 podium finishes in his career, represents one of Mexico’s most distinguished athletes and recently took on the role of shaping the Cadillac Formula 1® Team’s identity. The Guadalajara native, aged 35, announced his participation with the Cadillac Formula 1® Team alongside 10-time Grand Prix winner Valtteri Bottas for the 2026 season.
During his visit, Checo will take part in Dodger batting practice, tour the Dodger clubhouse, and do a jersey and helmet swap before stepping onto the mound.
“It’s a privilege to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the Dodgers, especially during Mexican Heritage Month and near Mexican Independence Day,” remarked Checo. “I’m thrilled to celebrate this moment with the Los Angeles community and Mexican fans around the world. While baseball is new to me, I appreciate how sports unite people, and the TWG family is excelling at this. I’m eagerly looking forward to experiencing the Dodgers’ passionate crowd, which I hope will also support the Cadillac Formula 1 Team.”
This event signifies the initial public collaboration between two of TWG Global’s prominent sports entities: the Los Angeles Dodgers, a storied Major League Baseball franchise, and the Cadillac Formula 1® Team, which is set to join the Formula 1® grid in 2026. This partnership reflects TWG Global’s unique multi-sport model that aims to engage athletes in wider cultural dialogues and introduce diverse fanbases to new sports.
“We are delighted to have Checo at Dodger Stadium during Mexican Heritage Month, an occasion that showcases sport’s ability to unite fans,” stated Mark Walter, Chairman of the Los Angeles Dodgers and CEO of TWG Global. “With both the Dodgers and the Cadillac Formula 1 Team under the TWG umbrella, this moment illustrates our mutual dedication to excellence and inspiring fans globally.”
