Lando Norris, Piastri’s McLaren teammate, will be right beside him on the front row as both drivers aim to bolster their lead in the constructors’ championship, with Piastri chasing his first victory at the Spanish GP.
Reigning champion Max Verstappen secured the third position, but will need a remarkable performance on race day to surpass both McLaren drivers.
George Russell rebounded from his recent struggles in Monaco to finish closer to the front, while Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton completed the top five, out-qualifying Charles Leclerc for only the second time this season.
Leclerc is set to start in seventh place, and the rest of the grid positions are now confirmed following qualifying. Here’s the complete starting grid for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.
