In Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, police were called to the residence of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and his wife on Monday over a domestic dispute, but no charges were filed.
A report from the Sunny Isles Beach Police Department indicates that Hill’s mother-in-law alerted them, expressing concern over Hill’s “aggressive and impulsive” behavior towards his wife, Keeta Vaccaro. She claimed that during an argument, Hill threw his wife’s laptop and then took their four-month-old daughter to their balcony in their 35th-floor apartment.
Vaccaro told the officers that she and Hill were in couples therapy due to their frequent disputes, which she said had been ineffective. She also mentioned that she was beginning divorce proceedings, and the argument started after she criticized Hill for his lack of involvement in their daughter’s life.
According to TMZ, Hill received divorce papers the following day, Tuesday. Although both Hill and Vaccaro insisted their confrontation was not physical, authorities observed a visible bruise on Vaccaro’s chest, which she explained was an accident from when Hill took their daughter at the argument’s onset.
The police confirmed that their daughter was in good health before leaving the scene without any charges. Vaccaro opted not to file a statement regarding the incident, and Hill departed approximately 40 minutes after the police arrived.
A spokesperson for the Dolphins commented on the situation, stating that after discussions with Hill and his family, the matter was resolved without incident. They also noted that they have been in dialogue with Hill and the NFL, declining to provide further comments.
This incident is the latest in a series of issues involving Hill since his trade to the Dolphins in March 2022. Previous events include an investigation for assaulting an employee at a marine center, a civil lawsuit filed by influencer Sophie Hall, and a confrontation with police during a traffic stop. Despite these controversies, Hill has expressed a desire to remain with the Dolphins, with team management stating they expect him to continue with the franchise.
