UFC Abu Dhabi took place TODAY (Saturday, July 26, 2025) at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The headline match featured Robert Whittaker facing off against Reinier de Ridder. Given de Ridder’s recent success and Whittaker’s esteemed position in the division, the victor could be set for a shot at the winner of Dricus du Plessis vs. Khamzat Chimaev. Whittaker aimed to secure a rematch by not engaging in de Ridder’s grappling style strategy.
The co-main event of UFC Abu Dhabi showcased Petr Yan against Marcus McGhee. McGhee entered this fight undefeated (4-0) in his UFC journey and faced a significant test in competition. Yan, having fought nearly everyone in the Top 5, was looking to bounce back from past losses.
The main card featured additional matchups, including Shara Magomedov versus Marc-Andre Barriault. Also on the card were matches between Asu Almabayev and Jose Ochoa, alongside Nikita Krylov facing Bogdan Guskov.
The prelims for UFC Abu Dhabi were headlined by Bryce Mitchell clashing with Said Nurmagomedov. Additional prelim fights included Amanda Ribas against Tabatha Ricci, Davey Grant battling Da’Mon Blackshear, and Martin Buday facing Marcus Buchecha, a multiple-time world Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion.
