Host: Announcement of a New Sponsor
Thank you for joining us today. As seen on the jerseys, we have an exciting announcement regarding a new sponsor for Honda HRC. We are thrilled to reveal that Monster Energy is joining Honda HRC PETRONAS for the 2026 Motocross World Championships.
Marcus on the Collaboration with Monster Energy
Marcus Pereira de Freitas: This is the first energy drink sponsorship for Honda HRC. The opportunity arose as Monster Energy already collaborates with Dakar, and we have developed a solid relationship. Adding them to our team for MXGP presents a fantastic chance for mutual growth, complementing our existing partnership with PETRONAS Lubricants International.
Host: Smooth Sailing with Monster Energy
Host: Once Monster expressed interest, was it a challenging decision for Honda HRC?
No, it wasn’t hard at all. Our strong relationship with the Monster team made the process seamless, and we are delighted with this new partnership.
Jeffrey Reflects on His Transition to Honda
Jeffrey Herlings: It’s tough to say if I wish I had changed teams sooner. My time with KTM was rewarding, but racing for Honda HRC has always been my dream. I was close to signing in 2016, and if I had left KTM, it would have been for Honda. Now that I’m on the bike, I’m impressed with its performance. I’m riding a new prototype, which comes with its challenges, but it offers great potential. I’m content with my timing and thrilled to have made this decision.
Tom Aims for Championship Success
Tom Vialle: I didn’t realize that achieving a third title would make me a standout among French champions, but it’s now a goal for me. This is my first year in the 450 class, and I have much to absorb with a new team and bike. I aim to achieve this incredible milestone.
Ruben’s Strategy for Winning Races
Ruben Fernandez: To challenge for moto and GP wins, it’s essential to focus on starts, as they are crucial in MXGP races. My experience from the previous seasons will also play a vital role in maintaining consistency in my performance. If I can manage both the starts and my pace, I believe I can regularly contend for podium finishes.
Valerio’s Development and Team Support
Valerio Lata: I’ve undergone a significant transformation this winter, particularly with my bike’s suspension. I’ve worked closely with mechanics and Showa, leading to enhanced bike performance this year, and I’m eager to begin the season in Argentina.
