Ripple Expands EU Regulatory Presence with Luxembourg EMI Approval
Ripple has achieved another significant regulatory milestone, gaining preliminary approval for an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license.
- License Achievement: Ripple has obtained preliminary approval for an EMI license from Luxembourg’s CSSF (Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier).
Based in San Francisco, Ripple received this preliminary nod from the Luxembourg financial regulator only a week after obtaining full EMI and Cryptoasset Registration from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This rapid succession positions Ripple favorably in both the UK and Luxembourg, key locations in Europe’s financial landscape.
- Strategic Locations: By securing licenses in both the UK and Luxembourg, Ripple strengthens its foothold in vital European financial hubs.
Despite Luxembourg’s small population of approximately 677,717, its role as the financial center of the Eurozone for corporate finance and banking is significant. An EMI license in Luxembourg offers exceptional advantages, including “passporting” capabilities. Ripple now holds over 75 regulatory licenses worldwide.
Shiba Inu Signals Short-Term Bullish Trend
Shiba Inu (SHIB) has just formed a mini golden cross, indicating a potential 22% rise to $0.00001054.
- Bullish Indicator: SHIB has activated its first significant bullish signal in several weeks as the 23-day SMA is now above the 50-day SMA.
This bullish trigger is not the typical golden cross; the shorter-term 23-day simple moving average rising above the 50-day SMA can often signal larger trend reversals, especially when accompanied by increasing volume. Currently, SHIB trades around $0.0000870, having stabilized above the critical cluster at $0.00000810.
Looking ahead, the next significant resistance sits at the 200-day EMA around $0.00001054, approximately 22% higher than current levels. As long as the price remains above $0.00000810, the conditions for this bullish setup remain intact.
XRP Sees Institutional Inflows Despite Market Outflows
XRP has witnessed a significant surge in institutional inflows, with a 428% increase despite the broader market facing a $454 million outflow, predominantly from US investors.
- Institutional Capital: XRP pulled in $45.8 million in inflows last week, an impressive rise from the prior week’s $10.7 million.
This surge marks a promising start to 2026 for XRP. The broader digital asset market, however, experienced a downturn with significant redemptions as optimism waned over potential Fed rate cuts. Major markets like Germany, Canada, and Switzerland provided some commendable inflow support amid the overall trend.
