Results from the 2026 SuperEnduro World Championship in Riesa, Germany, saw world champion Billy Bolt dominate, achieving a flawless performance ahead of Jonny Walker and newcomer Josep Garcia, who made his indoor podium debut.
Overview of SuperEnduro 2026 Round 2:
The distinctive track featured soft sand, complex rhythm sections, and a steep bridge, aligning perfectly with the skills of German track builders. As expected, it resulted in some of the toughest and most exciting racing of the season. World champion Billy Bolt noted, “It’s difficult to ride fast and smooth,” yet he proved otherwise during the competition.
Jonny Walker set the fastest time during practice and qualifying, leading by half a second and setting a benchmark for Bolt and others. However, during Superpole, EnduroGP World Champion Josep Garcia impressed with a clean second-place lap, while Bolt secured the fastest lap when it mattered most. Walker finished fifth due to small errors, falling behind Mitch Brightmore in third and Eddie Karlsson in fourth, which affected his gate selection.
Moto 1:
Billy Bolt took the holeshot, leading Jonny Walker and Eddie Karlsson as the race mirrored the previous podium. However, familiar challenges at Riesa caused Bolt to make mistakes, allowing Walker to lead briefly. A troublesome section of the track ultimately helped Bolt reclaim the lead and secure the victory. Karlsson maintained a clean run to finish third, while Garcia fought back to grab fourth after an early mishap, followed closely by Brightmore and Lettenbichler.
Moto 2:
Amid cheers for Lettenbichler’s holeshot, Bolt showcased remarkable skill, executing an impressive inside pass from the second row to take the lead by turn two. Demonstrating his prowess, he claimed a decisive win despite experiencing arm pump. Walker finished in second, unable to close the gap. Meanwhile, Karlsson and Lettenbichler battled for third, with Brightmore contending for fifth against Garcia, the night culminating in an exciting finish.
Moto 3:
Bolt continued his dominance in the final moto, smoothly taking the holeshot and leading from start to finish. Meanwhile, a thrilling battle unfolded behind him, pitting Karlsson and a confident Garcia against each other, with Walker closely trailing. Garcia made a decisive pass on Karlsson, who subsequently faltered under pressure, allowing Walker, Brightmore, and Olszowy to capitalize. Brightmore’s late surge forced an error from Walker, who finished fifth.
The overall results marked a stellar night for Bolt, who achieved a clean sweep with Superpole, three moto victories, and the Acerbis fastest lap award. Walker, despite finishing second overall, faced missed opportunities with Superpole errors. A highlight of the evening was rookie Josep Garcia, who earned his first podium finish and appeared to thrive in the indoor enduro atmosphere, with his next challenge awaiting in Bilbao.
Junior World Championship:
Toby Shaw triumphed in the opening junior moto, quickly establishing a significant lead for a comfortable win, followed by veteran Milan Schmuser in second. In moto two, Schmuser played strategically and took the victory ahead of a closely contested podium battle involving Strauss, Gomez Martinez, and Shaw, who recovered well after an aggressive start. Schmuser secured another win in the final race, showcasing his experience and composure to take the day, with Shaw finishing second overall and Strauss claiming third.
