Philadelphia Eagles Injury Report Before Week 16
The Philadelphia Eagles released their final injury report ahead of their Week 16 road matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Two Players Ruled OUT: Jalen Carter and Lane Johnson.
Carter will be sidelined for his third consecutive game. The Eagles plan to utilize Moro Ojomo, Jordan Davis, Bryon Young, and Brandon Graham in the interior defensive line, with Ty Robinson stepping in at defensive tackle.
Lane Johnson will also miss his fifth straight game, leaving Fred Johnson to take over at right tackle once more. Johnson returned to practice on Thursday after being listed as “did not participate” earlier in the week.
Two Players Listed as QUESTIONABLE: Cameron Latu and Cameron Williams.
It’s a questionable duo. Latu improved from a DNP status on Tuesday to limited practice on Wednesday and was fully participating on Thursday, making him a potential game-time decision. The inactive roster for the Eagles-Commanders matchup will be confirmed at 3:30 PM Eastern on Saturday.
The Eagles activated Williams’ 21-day practice window from injured reserve last week, but it seems they are not rushing to bring the rookie offensive tackle back into action.
Other Players Without Game Status: Fred Johnson, Landon Dickerson, Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, Zack Baun, and Jaelan Phillips.
This indicates that they are cleared to play, even with their appearances on the injury report this week. Dickerson was upgraded from DNP on Tuesday and Wednesday to full participant by Thursday.
Washington Commanders Injury Report Before Week 16
Four Players Ruled OUT: Starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil, rotational defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, and third-string tight end Colson Yankoff.
Washington is shutting down Daniels for the remainder of the season with only three games left. Marcus Mariota will take the helm as quarterback.
Tunsil attempted to practice on Wednesday but left early and did not participate on Thursday. This absence means Brandon Coleman will start at left tackle. Coleman previously started 12 games as a rookie but has been a backup this season.
Goldman, typically the third defensive tackle, is expected to be missed in a run defense that has struggled, especially in his absence. Yankoff’s injury leaves Washington with just two healthy tight ends available: Ben Sinnott and John Bates.
Two Players Listed as QUESTIONABLE: Fill-in starting cornerback Jonathan Jones and second-year defensive tackle Jer’Zhan Newton.
Jones was a full participant earlier in the week but missed Thursday’s practice due to a rib issue. If he is unable to play, Washington will be down to a third-string cornerback. Newton was added to the injury report recently due to an illness but is expected to be available.
Notable Injuries on Injured Reserve: Many significant starters are on injured reserve for the Commanders, including former Eagles tight end Zach Ertz, cornerbacks Marshon Lattimore and Trey Amos, and defensive linemen Dorance Armstrong and Deatrich Wise Jr.
